Dear readers………what is happening this year on Santorini is quite bizarre.
Every summer the police redirects traffic from the main road that leads to Fira to an other road and in August the main road of FIRA gets to be a pedestian area.That is fine with me ,pedestrians should have the road for themselves that is OK.
The last days there is no one from the police on the gross road that leads to the capital (Fira) near the Museum ….New signs have been placed that are not allowing to pass………
The funny part is that there are a few municipal officers there just looking …the tourists , who are busy looking not run over any of the pedestrians follow the road without seeing the signs.A few meters after they enter the pedestrian area ,which looks and feels like a normal street the Police is giving out the super premium fines of 200 euro.Isn’t that great?
They actually wait there for you to commit the crime, because they know you wont see the traffic signs.So my question is ……………….. why for Gods name they do not place the police officers on the grossing preventing the tourists not to enter the pedestrian area????
It seems that the season is slow and the Municipality of Thira is looking for extra funds.This is really not funny.It is 100% OK to pay a fine for something you have done wrong, but in this case it is a pure rip off.
So …. if you plan to drive in Santorini you better look exactly on the traffic signs because if not it will cost you a day in a super duper luxury hotel in fines.
αγαπητε βεν με πρωτο δεδομενο το γεγονος οτι για να οδηγησει καποιος αυτοκινητο χρειαζεται διπλωμα και δινει εξετασεις για αυτο πραγμα που σημαινει οτι γνωριζει τα σηματα του κοκ (ισχυουν για ολες τις χωρες) και με δευτερο δεδομενο την ελευθερια των πολιτων- – σε κανενα δεν αρεσει νομιζω να κυκλοφορει με εναν αστυνομικο διπλα-μπροστα-πισω του και με ολο το σεβασμο που τρεφω για καθε ανθρωπινη ύπαρξη σου λεω οτι λες ασυναρτησιες για δημιουργια εντυπώσεων ..ισως? α! ενημερωτικα σου αναφερω οτι κανενας αλλοδαπος κ γενικα τουριστας δεν παραβιαζει τα σηματα του πεζοδρομου…μονο κατι κουτοπονηροι εγχωριοι-μονιμοι κατοικοι του νησιου ….!!! οποιος θελει καταλαβαινει κ βγαζει τα συμπερασματα του τέλος η αστυνομια δρα και προληπτικα σε αρχικο σταδιο κ κατασταλτικά στο επομενο και ειμαστε στο επομενο αν δεν το εχεις καταλαβει 5 αυγουστου σημερα
